This is my storey.

White Island Disaster

Once upon a time there was two guys that lived on a boat. There names were Oliver and Jack. Oliver was a very short and skinny person and jack was tall and plump. Both Oliver and Jack were really good deep sea divers. Their job is to dive down and spear kill fish. Oliver was a very talented and smart person but was very shy and Jack was very confident and funny.

One day they were going back to New Zealand and they heard a roaring boom. They were terrified and curious so they so they decided to go towards the place where the noise came from. The waves started to get really rough and choppy. When they got close enough they saw rocks spewing out of a volcano. Jack and Oliver did not know what to do so they had to get further out to sea. They turned their speed up to full bore and raced out to sea. Up and down, up and down. When they got further enough out to sea they heard a massive boom and then a scream.

“I wonder who screamed?” said Oliver to Jack.
“Let’s go find out.”
As they were floating toward the scream they came upon a girl with the name Anneliese.
“What’s the matter?” said Jack.
“A rock has fallen and landed on my leg and now I am stuck!”
“We have to get her out of there before this island explodes and kills her” said Oliver.
“But how, she is half way under that rock and if she can't move then how can we get her out?”
“We have to find a way!” Oliver exclaimed.

After a couple of hours of trying they were not making any progress at all. Anneliese was still stuck under the rock and the island was becoming more and more dangerous.
Finally they decided they needed a piece of rope, so Oliver went to get one from the sulphur mill which was only about 20 metres away. When he returned with some rope he passed it to Jack who tied it around the rock. Then they pulled on the rope with all their strength and finally the rock came off Anneliese’s legs.
“ Yee-owwwww!” screamed Anneliese “That hurts.”
Oliver looked at her legs and said “We need to get some first aid and help.”
“I’ll go get the first aid kit and sat phone off our boat” said Jack as he began to run across the rocks.
In no time at all, Jack came back with the first aid kit and said “I’ll call for help and you can do the first aid treatment.”
Oliver nodded and got to work to help Anneliese whilst other explosions were going off around them. The steam was also clouding in and blocking the distant views. Oliver knew it wouldn’t be long before they would be trapped.

After what seemed like an hour they heard the sound of rotor blades close by. Soon enough they saw a light shining in on them because it was steamy and dark. Then not long after a winch came down with a stretcher and paramedic.

The man said to them “Get the injured person onto the stretcher.” They knew they didn't have long.

Once Anneliese was on the stretcher it was time for the boys to go up into the helicopter too. By then they couldn’t see very much at all. The pilot turned the helicopter around and headed for the last bit of light in the distance. 20 seconds later when they were about 500 metres away from the island there was a massive boom and the crater sides crumbled down. As the island disappeared behind them they cleared the darkness of the smoke and steam and realised how lucky they all were.
